YES…Accreditation is a stamp of approval for an educational
institution from an organization that dedicates itself to ensuring high
standards of education. No curriculum by itself can be accredited, only
the educational institution administering it.
The Academy2you.com website provides a
curriculum for independent use. However, The Home School Academy is
accredited and all enrollees completing courses following Academy
procedures receive full academic credit
Can I Print Out The Lessons?
Yes, most lessons and exams can be printed out, but in order for lessons
to be graded and to have the records kept for credit you would need to
enter the answers into the on-line program.
How Do I Find Out What Is
Covered In Each Unit?
There is a detailed course outline
on-line, which will give you specific information about what subject
matter is taught in each unit.
Is There Academic Assistance
Available?
Academy2you.com is a curriculum designed to be used independently
over the Internet without the need for academic assistance. If a student
has an occassional question he can email a tutor; if he requires regular
assistance from our teaching staff he will need to register with the The
Academy

based on a method of instruction known as Individualized Mastery
Learning. Students will need to master a concept or skill with accuracy
before moving on to the next objective or unit. Students are then tested
to ensure retention. Material is periodically reviewed throughout the
unit. With years of experience, our dedicated teachers and educational
experts have now created the perfect curriculum for the parent or
student who needs flexibility.
What Are the Benefits Of Using
Academy2you.com?

our extensive grades 4-12 courses including the advanced sciences
and math programs and the tutor email service.

The courses can also be taken for transcript purposes and

What Subjects Are Available?
A number of core subjects are currently available: English 4-12,
Literature 9-12, Mathematics 4-12, Science 4-8, Advanced science 9-12
(Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science), and Social
Studies 4-8, with many new courses currently under development.
You will see changes and improvements every week .A
number of electives are also under development.
In addition, all Tutors2you members can enroll in or purchase any
of the Academy’s 100s of other computer based or paper based courses
at special Academy2you prices.
What Is the Parent's Role?
Parental involvement is always
important. Our Academy2you.com program will independently guide
students through the learning process and will grade the majority of the
work. However, parents are responsible for setting up the administrative
portion of the program. This includes minimum lesson requirements,
lesson plans, grading scales and individual project assignments. (If
you enroll in the academy for credit program, our staff will meet
administrative responsibilities.) Parents also need to assist their
students in creating a good learning environment. Use a computer in an
area that is free from distractions but open to your investigation.
How Much Time Per Day Should I
Work In Each Subject?
Students will spend 30-45 minutes each day per
subject.
Do Students Have To Take A Diagnostic
Test Before They Can Start?
It is important to remember that a diagnostic test is used only to place
students correctly within our curriculum. It is not a standardized or
intelligence test. Diagnostic
Tests are not required for Academy2you.com, but are required if
your student is registering for credit with our Academy.
However, we encourage all students to take the
diagnostic test to help ensure academic success and enthusiasm for
learning. Think of
education as a set of building blocks; students master one skill before
moving on to the next and more advanced skill. If a student fails to
master one of these skills it becomes harder over time to advance to the
next level.
For example, if a student struggles with
multiplication and division, trying to learn Algebra will be a struggle.
Therefore, a diagnostic test, which reveals areas of non-mastery or
learning gaps is essential. Recognizing these gaps beforehand will save
your student a world of frustration.
Identifying the level of mastery and initializing the program at
the proper skill level will make learning an enjoyable experience.
Reviewing and assigning work in these areas will also give
students the chance to improve their skills before moving onto the next
course.
Is There A Time Limit On
Completing The Unit?
Any units purchased must be completed within one year from the date
of purchase. Simply purchase what you need, when you need it.
What Does Academy2you.com Cost?
The cost is just $50.00 a year for total access to our curriculum.
Professional diagnostic assessments are available in English,
Math and Science for each Grade level.
The cost for each grade level subject area is only $10.00.
They are downloaded from the Internet and administered on your
computer. Each assessment will take about 1 1/2 hours to complete and
once completed, will provide a thorough 15- to 25 page detailed
assessment and placement with tutorial instruction.
In addition any of the on-line courses can be taken
for Transcript or Credit purposes through the Academy for $95.00 per
course. A complete set of
guidelines and course requirements will be provided upon enrollment.

track of your academic records for as long as you are enrolled. You may also print them out for your own personal use.
If you are enrolled in the Full Service Academy,
Permanent Records and Transcripts are created and stored indefinitely
and forwarded to prospective schools and colleges upon request.
